NEET UG 2025: 4 big updates on NEET UG counseling, MCC released new guidelines
Four updates have come out regarding NEET UG counseling. The Supreme Court has refused to ban counseling. New rules have also been implemented for PWD candidates. At the same time, new guidelines have also been issued for MP NEET UG counseling. Let’s take a look at these rules-
There is a big update on NEET UG Counseling (NEET UG 2025). The Medical Counseling Committee has announced the Round-1 seat matrix for MBBS and BDS programs. Candidates can check the list by visiting the official website mcc.nic.in. The choice filling process will continue till July 28, 2025. Apart from this, MCC has also issued new rules for PWD candidates.
The seat matrix of the participating institutes has been divided into five different categories. This year, admission will be given on 1,15,900 seats for MBBS in 775 medical colleges. AIIMS, BHU, JIMPER have been placed in the first seat matrix. The names of 3 AIIMS institutes – Gorakhpur, Guwahati and Bhubaneswar have been removed from the list.
The second seat matrix is for DU, IP, BHY, Jamia, AMU. The third is for ESIC IP and the fourth is for deemed universities. The fifth seat matrix is for other medical institutions. Nehru Medical College (Belagavi, Karnataka) and Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research are also not included in the list of deemed universities.
New rules for PWD candidates
A big update has come out for the candidates of PWD category taking admission in MBBS course under NEET UG 2025. New guidelines have been issued. There has been a change in the rules. Now candidates will have to get a disability certificate from 16 special centers recognized by MCC. This step has been taken after the decision of the Supreme Court. Students should also have UDID card and other necessary documents. The list of which is available in the notification.

Supreme Court’s decision regarding counseling
On July 23, the Supreme Court has rejected the demand to stop NEET UG counseling. The affected students had filed a petition due to power outage in the centers of Madhya Pradesh. Now the next hearing will be on July 25, 2025. Earlier, the Madhya Pradesh High Court had also refused to give relief to the candidates. The demand for re-exam and bonus marks was refused. After which the students knocked the door of the Supreme Court.
Update regarding MP NEET UG counseling also
Registrations for MP NEET UG Counseling Round-1 are going on. Now DME, MP has issued new guidelines regarding scholarship on the official website dme.mponline.gov.in. The department has made changes for the candidates of OBC, EWS, SC and ST categories. Scholarship will be given to meritorious students as fee reimbursement according to the maximum fee amount prescribed in the Government Medical College of MP for MBBS program. After completion of the course, the balance amount of the day can be considered less in proportion to the service period if the student works in the rural area determined by the state government for the next 5 years.
For example, if 50% of the loan will be considered paid after working for two and a half years. At the same time, after 5 years of the above service, the overdue amount will be considered zero. In case of not working in the rural area for 5 years, it will be necessary to return the balance amount to the government proportionately. Under the scheme, the All India Rank in the examination should be under 2.5 lakh to get 5 benefits in MBBS course. This facility will also be available to the students who are natives of MP and take admission in government and private medical colleges of MP / government medical colleges of Central Government through NEET examination. This arrangement is applicable for the academic session 2025-26.
