Rain Forecast Across Bihar Today; Heavy Showers Alert in 10 Districts
Widespread rainfall is expected across all districts of Bihar on Friday, with the Patna Meteorological Centre issuing a heavy rain alert for 10 districts. Several areas have already begun witnessing showers since the morning.
Districts under heavy rain alert include Begusarai, Samastipur, Aurangabad, Khagaria, Kaimur, Rohtas, Gaya, Nawada, Banka, and Jamui.
In Patna and other regions, intermittent rainfall is expected throughout the day, with cloud cover persisting. Late-night yellow and orange alerts were issued for different areas. Kaimur, Rohtas, and Aurangabad were placed under an orange alert from 1:26 a.m. to 4:26 a.m.
A yellow alert was issued from 4:44 a.m. to 7:44 a.m. for Sheikhpura, Nalanda, Nawada, Lakhisarai, Jamui, Banka, Bhagalpur, Munger, Begusarai, Purnia, and Katihar. Supaul, Araria, and Kishanganj were also under yellow alert between 4:53 a.m. and 7:53 a.m.
No Significant Dip in Temperature Despite Rain
Over the past 24 hours, rainfall occurred across several districts including Patna, but there was no major change in daytime temperatures. Gaya received the highest rainfall at 85.4 mm, followed by Jehanabad with 66.2 mm, Aurangabad 52.2 mm, Danrua (Patna) 50.4 mm, Rohtas 46.8 mm, Fatuha (Patna) 42.4 mm, Banka 39.8 mm, Daniyawan (Patna) 35.4 mm, Nawada 35 mm, Arwal 28.4 mm, East Champaran 27 mm, Buxar 24.7 mm, Vaishali 23 mm, and Siwan 14.8 mm.
Patna Records 37°C; Gopalganj Hottest at 39.2°C
Patna recorded a maximum temperature of 37°C on Thursday. Gopalganj reported the highest temperature in the state at 39.2°C, while Banka saw the lowest at 31.2°C. Kishanganj, typically among the cooler regions, recorded an unusually high temperature of 37.01°C. The average temperature across the state hovered between 34°C and 35°C.
