Mumbai-bound Air India flight returns to Jaipur shortly after take-off
An Air India flight bound for Mumbai was forced to return to Jaipur shortly after take-off on Friday, following a suspected technical snag that later turned out to be a false alert, an official said.
Flight AI612, operating between Jaipur and Mumbai, returned shortly after departure at around 1.35 pm as a precautionary measure.
A spokesperson for the airline confirmed that the pilots opted to return to the origin airport due to a warning indication that triggered post take-off.
Troubleshooting checks were carried out upon landing and engineers determined that the issue was a false indication. After receiving all necessary clearances, the aircraft resumed operations and completed its journey to Mumbai.
“Any inconvenience caused to our passengers for this unforeseen disruption is sincerely regretted. At Air India, the safety and wellbeing of our passengers remain top priority," said the airline in a statement.
The incident comes amid heightened scrutiny on airline operations in the country, with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) keeping a close eye on flight safety protocols.
