BJP leader’s son stabbed to death in Jind district
Anil Sharma, who also owns a private health centre in the same town, picked up Vikas from his hospital on Thursday. Another person, Happy, also accompanied them in the same vehicle and they drove towards Assandh.
On their way back, their car was blocked by two other vehicles in Safidon around 10 pm. As Vikas asked them to give him the passage, around eight men armed with knives attacked him.
While Vikas died due to severe bleeding, Anil and Happy, who also sustained injuries, were rushed to a hospital in Panipat.
However, family members of the deceased suspect involvement of Anil and Happy in the incident. As a result, the police have also registered a case against them on the basis of statement of the family of Vikas.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Gaurav Sharma said the incident may be categorised as road rage. A forensic team had collected blood samples and other evidence from the crime scene, but no weapons had been recovered from the spot, said the DSP, adding that the hunt to nab the accused was underway.
Notably, 12 murder cases have rocked Jind district within a month.
Congress’ MP Randeep Singh Surjewala said the BJP government had failed to maintain law and order and around 80 gangs were active in the active.
