SBI Card has made a big change. Now it has decided to discontinue the free air accident insurance cover available on many co-branded credit cards. This change will come into effect from August 11, 2025. Till now, air accident cover of Rs 1 crore or Rs 50 lakh was being given on some ELITE and PRIME cards issued in association with UCO Bank, Central Bank, PSB, Karur Vysya Bank, Allahabad Bank etc. But now this facility will be discontinued.

City Union Bank SBI Card Prime
Allahabad Bank SBI Card Prime

Changes in billing system also
SBI Card has also made changes in its billing and payment process from 15 July 2025. Now the full GST amount, EMI, fees, finance charges, overlimit amount and 2% of the remaining bill will be added to the minimum amount due.
Payment Adjustment
Now the payment made by the customer will be adjusted first towards GST, then EMI, then fees and charges, finance charges, balance transfer, retail expenses and finally cash advance. Hence, those who have the above-mentioned cards should read the new terms carefully before August 11 and choose the option if needed.
