UGC issued an alert! Students should not do such diploma or degree courses even by mistake, otherwise their career will be ruined
UGC has issued a warning to colleges and students. They have been asked to be cautious about fake degrees offered in collaboration with foreign institutions. Such diplomas and degrees are not recognized in India. Let’s know what the commission said?
The process of admission to PG and UG courses for the new academic session is going on in various institutions across the country. Meanwhile, cases of giving fake degrees in the name of foreign educational institutions have also come to light. Regarding which UGC has issued an alert. Strict instructions have been issued regarding academic collaboration courses between Indian higher education institutions or colleges to offer twinning programs, joint degrees, dual degree programs and foreign higher education institutions.
In the notice, the Commission said that many higher education institutions or colleges are offering courses in collaboration with such foreign educational institutions and providers, which are not recognized by UGC. Colleges are also providing the facility of issuing degrees to students enrolled in the name of foreign educational institutions. Which has no significance in the country.
Apart from this, some ad tech companies are also giving advertisements in newspapers/social media, television etc., offering degree or diploma programs through online medium in collaboration with foreign universities and institutions. Which has not been approved by UGC either.
UGC will take action if rules are violated
Regarding these cases, the commission said, “This type of collaboration or arrangement is not recognized by the University Grants Commission. The degrees issued by such collaboration/arrangement will also not be recognized by the UGC. Action will also be taken against all the guilty educational institutions and edtech companies under the applicable laws and rules.
Students should take care of these things
UGC advised the general public and students to be cautious. They have been forbidden from taking admission in such courses, programs and degrees, which are not recognized by UGC. If a student does this, he will be fully responsible for the problems in the future. They will have no importance in the institutions recognized by UGC. You may also face problems in the job. Therefore, before joining any course, do check it. The list of all recognized institutions is available on the official website of the commission http://www.ugc.gov.in.
