ASHA killed, daughter critical in road mishap

Bhograi: An Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) was killed and her daughter critically injured after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a fish-laden container truck Friday night in Balasore district.
The incident occurred around 8 pm near Naskarpur village on the Jagannathpur-Phulbani road under Bhograi block.
The deceased has been identified as Sukanti Nayak, 45, wife of Ramesh Nayak from Jodabali village in Nilagiri block.
She was working as an ASHA under the Raj Barhampur sub-centre.
Sukanti was seated on the pillion, which was struck from behind by the speeding container.
Her 23-year-old daughter sustained critical injuries in the mishap.
