CM Gupta unveils Munak Canal riverfront project, reviews works in Pitampura

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday unveiled an ambitious plan to develop a riverfront along the Munak canal, alongside the proposed elevated road connecting Inderlok in North Delhi to the Delhi-Haryana border. The move aims to alleviate traffic congestion and boost connectivity between the Outer and Inner Ring Roads.

During her visit to the Shalimar Bagh Assembly Constituency, the Chief Minister inaugurated a series of new development projects and reviewed ongoing works across several Pitampura blocks. She launched new sewer lines in TP, VP, LP, and HD blocks, constructed at a cost of Rs 60 lakh, and inaugurated a newly built road between SP-1 and SP-65, developed at a cost of Rs 11 lakh. Tenders worth Rs 91 lakh are already underway to connect other lanes in the SP and TP blocks.

Additionally, CM Gupta launched a Rs 54 lakh Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) pipeline project in VP and FP blocks and dedicated new ready-mix concrete (RMC) roads in JP and KP blocks worth Rs 35 lakh.

Highlighting the upcoming elevated road project, the Chief Minister explained that the new corridor will start from Inderlok Metro Station and extend to the Delhi-Haryana border.

In a major boost to healthcare, the Chief Minister announced the opening of 15 new ‘Arogya Mandirs’ to enhance primary health services in her constituency. She also revealed that the long-abandoned building near Max Hospital would soon be transformed into a super-speciality hospital.

During her inspection, CM Gupta visited the road-widening project from Prembari Bridge to Singalpur village, directing officials to expedite completion. She also laid the foundation stone for a new U-turn at NSP-Madhuban Chowk on Lala Jagat Narayan Marg, to be constructed at a cost of Rs 40 lakh.
