Tewari raises Chandigarh residents’ issues before Administrator
City’s Member of Parliament and former Union minister Manish Tewari raised various issues being faced by the residents before UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria.
In a statement issued today, Tewari said he raised five outstanding issues, including share-wise sale of property, need-based changes in Chandigarh Housing Board residential dwellings, ownership rights to people living in relief and rehabilitation colonies, abolition of Lal Dora in 22 urban villages and amalgamated problems of cooperative group housing societies in the southern sectors.
He said at the instance of the Administrator, he wrote to him again on July 8. The said letters exhaustively detailed the problem and the corresponding solution to each of these outstanding issues that have been hanging fire now in case of certain issues going back two and a half decades
The MP said he has taken up all these five issues through Parliamentary questions, special mentions and Zero Hour interventions in the Lok Sabha over the past thirteen odd months.
He urged upon the Administrator to form separate empowered group of officials with representation of stakeholders to address the issues.
