MC to carry out development works worth ₹4.62 cr in Yamunanagar

The Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ), will carry out development works worth about Rs 4.62 crore in various wards. Out of the amount, about Rs 2.28 crore will be spent on repair works and the remaining amount will be spent on construction of new streets, drains, community centres and other development works.

Giving this information, Mayor Suman Bahamani said tenders had been issued after getting administrative approval for all development works. She said the development works would be started as soon as the tenders were allotted.

MCYJ Commissioner Akhil Pilani instructed all officers to pay special attention to the quality of the development works.She said streets and drains would also be built in the newly approved colonies.

She further said a community centre would be constructed at Darwa village of Ward 11 at a cost of Rs 38.32 lakh.

“With the construction of the community centre, the villagers will be relieved from organising wedding ceremonies, social and religious programmes in the open courtyard. There will be a big hall, toilet and a kitchen in the community centre. People will be able to organise all their programmes of happiness and sorrow at the community centre,” said Bahamani. She said the repair works of the streets, drains, parks and other things were to be done in every ward of the MCYJ at a cost of Rs 20 lakh-Rs 25 lakh. She added that they had called for tenders of these works.

She said various repair works worth Rs 20.88 lakh would be done in Ward 8, Rs 20.73 lakh in Ward 9, Rs 21.18 lakh in Ward 16, Rs 21.12 lakh in Ward 13, Rs 21.13 lakh in Ward 18, Rs 21.18 lakh in Ward 20, Rs 18.23 lakh in Ward 14, Rs 20.78 lakh in Ward-10, Rs 21.15 lakh in Ward 12, Rs 21.18 lakh in Ward 22 and Rs 21.18 lakh in Ward 17.
