Breaking: Heavy Rain Triggers Flash Floods in Rajasthan and Maharashtra; Vehicles Washed Away, Schools Shut

Severe monsoon rains have triggered flash floods across parts of Rajasthan and Maharashtra, causing widespread damage and panic. In Sirohi district’s Shivganj area, heavy rainfall led to the overflowing of rivers and drains. A dramatic incident was caught on camera where a car attempting to cross the swollen Rowara river was swept away by strong currents. Fortunately, the vehicle got stuck between trees, and the driver was later rescued with the help of locals using ropes. Roads in the region, including a four-lane highway, have been submerged under 1.5 feet of water, with rainwater entering homes and shops. Authorities have issued a red alert until July 31, and schools across twelve districts have been ordered to remain closed for the next two days as a precaution. Meanwhile, in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district, four farmers were trapped while trying to cross the Kancha river in a tractor near Dod village. Sudden water surge due to heavy downpour left them stranded midstream. Thanks to the quick response of villagers, all four were safely rescued. With monsoon activity intensifying, both state administrations are urging residents to stay indoors and avoid crossing waterlogged roads or rivers.
