'Joote Se Marunga...': Panchayat-Like Drama In Bihar's Patna, Maner MLA Threatens Village Secretary For Failing To Recognise Him Over Phone

Patna: Panchayat-websries-like drama unfolded in Bihar's Patna district after a panchayat secretary failed to recognise Maner MLA Bhai Virendra. A purported audio conversation between Bhai Virendra and the village secretary also surfaced online.

In the audio conversation, the RJD MLA could be heard to hit the secretary with his shoes. As per the viral conversation, Virendra called the secretary to enquire about the status of the death certificate of the husband of the woman, named Rinki Devi. However, the matter escalated when the person who received the call failed to recognise the legislator.

"You don’t know Bhai Virendra? You want me to introduce myself? The whole country knows me," the MLA could be heard saying in the purported video. The secretary replied to the MLA that he would show respect if the MLA spoke to him respectfully.

"Joote se maarunga (I will hit you with a shoe)... You don’t follow protocol. You dare to say who is Bhai Virendra?" the MLA said.

Purported Audio Conversation:

"Please talk about the work," the secretary could be heard saying. The MLA also told the secretary that he had no right to work at the post if he did not know the local MLA of his constituency.

In the end of the conversation, the secretary informed the MLA about the status of the death certificate of Rinki Devi's husband.

The purported audio conversation is almost similar to what is shown in the popular web series 'Panchayat", where panchayat secretary Abhishek Tripathi has a tense relationship with MLA Chandrakishore Singh, which led to ego clashes between the two characters.
