‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ weekend box office collection: Marvel flick stretches to Rs 19 crore in India

Matt Shakman's latest directorial seems to be faring well considering The Fantastic Four: First Steps is only his second feature film, and it is certainly reflecting through the numbers the film is generating. The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which hit theatres on Friday, marks the third big-screen adaptation of Marvel’s iconic superhero family.

In India, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Pedro Pascal-starrer opened with Rs 5.5 crore on Friday. The film saw an increase on Saturday, raking Rs 7.1 crore but witnessed a slight decline on Sunday with Rs 6.86 crore, a surprising dip for weekend revenue. The three-day Indian total stands at Rs 19.44 crore.

In India, The Fantastic Four: First Steps faces tough competition against regional releases like Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which garnered Rs 64 crore the past weekend. But the surprise collection comes from romance-driven film Saiyaara, which still keeps drawing audiences to the theatres. The film collected Rs 30 crore on Sunday alone, the tenth day of its theatrical run.

Globally, The Fantastic Four: First Steps collected $218 million, with $118 coming from the United States—a huge win for the comic book film.
