Sensex falls 572 points, Nifty ends below 24,700— 10 key highlights from the Indian stock market today

The Sensex closed with a loss of 572 points, or 0.70 per cent, at 80,891.02, while the Nifty 50 settled at 24,680.90, down 156 points, or 0.63 per cent. The BSE Midcap index also fell by 0.73 per cent, while the Smallcap index plunged by 1.31 per cent.
