Sector 42 Chandigarh centre girl Shine best boxer
Shine of the Sector 42 centre was adjudged as the best boxer during the 19th Sub-Junior Girls Chandigarh State Championship at the Sector 42 sports complex. Aakansha of PML SD School, Sector 32, was named as best challenger. St Joseph’s School, Sector 44, claimed the overall trophy with 12 points, while the Sector 42 team finished second with eight points.
In the 30-33kg event, Mahi defeated Navya for the gold medal and Yashika won the 33-35kg event by overpowering Navristha. In the 37-40kg event, Myra claimed the first position, and in the 40-43kg final, Jashan defeated Aarti. In the 43-46kg final, Mahira defeated Pratha.
Shine won the 46-49kg final by defeating Manasu. In the 49-52kg category, Tripti defeated Akanksha for the top spot, Manjit Kaur defeated Pakhi to win the 52-55kg final. In the 55-58kg, Mansi Gulia won the gold medal by defeating Harsimranjit Kaur, and Harshita won the 58-61kg final by ousting Ramnat Kaur. In the 61-64kg final bout, Naushra defeated Ananya, while Saihajleen Kaur won the 67-70kg category by defeating Ayushi. In the +70kg category, Shraddha, Taniya and Sonia claimed the top three positions, respectively.
Meanwhile, in the boys’ Sub-Junior Boxing State Championship, Parteek defeated Vihaan Raghav for gold medal in the 49-52kg category. In the 52-55kg category, Aditya Gupta won the gold medal by defeating Angad Singh. In the 55-58kg category, Viven Dahiya won the gold medal.
Mehul Rana won the 58-61kg gold by overpowering Shivam Yadav. Udaydeep Pandey defeated Aditya Sharma in the final of the 61-64kg category. In the 64-67kg event, Yuvraj Singh won the top position, while in the 67-70kg event, Jatin Kumar defeated Nitin Kumar Sahu to win the gold medal. In the +70kg category, Rudransh defeated Manchet Singh to win the gold medal. Saurav was named best boxer of the championship, while Mandeep Jatrana was named as best challenger. The Sector 42 coaching centre lifted the overall trophy with 43 points, followed by Sector 56 team with 21 points.
