Focus on immunisation, teleconsultation & high-risk care at health meet

The Health and Family Welfare Department, Chamba, convened its monthly meeting to review the health projects being implemented in the district under the National Health Mission. Chief Medical Officer Dr Bipen Thakur presided over the meeting.

The meeting highlighted Chamba district’s outstanding achievement of securing the first position in health and nutrition among all aspirational districts in India, as recognised during the inauguration ceremony of the International Minjar Fair by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla.

Dr Thakur extended congratulations to the entire district health team for this significant recognition and urged all officers to continue striving for excellence. He reviewed the monthly reports submitted by Block Medical Officers (BMOs) and assessed the progress of various health schemes and initiatives running under the aspirational district programme.

During the meeting, Dr Thakur emphasised the importance of registering all road accident cases online as per the Road Safety Act. He said that GIS mapping of ambulances reaching accident sites is being implemented. In Himachal Pradesh, 242 ambulances are operated under the National Health Mission and 14 by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) through the 108-emergency service.

He also directed all BMOs to actively facilitate the Mukhyamantri HIMCARE Yojana, a flagship health insurance scheme of the Himachal Pradesh Government. He directed that the eligible beneficiaries must be enrolled for yearly health cards in the months of March, June, September and December.

District Health Officer Dr Kavita Mahajan reviewed the ongoing programmes under the National Health Mission and provided guidance to improve their outcomes. She laid special emphasis on full immunisation coverage, high-risk antenatal care under the PMSMA, Ayushman Arogya Health Camps, tele-consultations, IFA pink tablets, BPHU, IDPCF campaigns, U-WIN platform, HMIS, RCH portal, AENTP, HBNC, HBYC and IDSP initiatives.

The meeting was attended by District Programme Officer Dr Harit Puri; Dr Karan Hiteshi; Dr Suresh; Block Medical Officers Dr Navdeep Rathore, Dr Shyam Lal, Dr Padma Agrawal, Dr Shiv Raj and Dr Manoj; among others.
