DU releases 2nd seat allotment list for undergraduate admissions
The University of Delhi (DU) on Monday released the second round of undergraduate (UG) admission allocations under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) 2025. A total of 87,335 allocations were made in this round, including fresh seat allotments, upgrades to higher preferences and students who opted to freeze their seats.
According to the data released by the university, 24,843 candidates received fresh allocations, while 27,314 were upgraded to their higher preference of course or college based on merit and seat availability. Additionally, 17,922 students chose to freeze their current allocations, confirming their admission and opting out of further rounds.
The DU-UG 2025 second round cutoff list has been made available on the official website ugadmission.uod.ac.in, and students can now log in to their CSAS dashboards to check their allotment status. Those who have been allotted seats are required to accept the allocation and report to their respective colleges within the stipulated time period to secure admission. Failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of their allocated seat.
Three-tier system to handle queries
In an effort to ensure a smooth admission process, Delhi University has implemented a three-tier support system to handle student queries
The support includes a dedicated helpline number (8882643439), an email ID (ug@admission.du.ac.in) and a chatbot feature on the official admission portal
All services are functional during the admission window and are designed to assist students with any technical or procedural concerns.
Top five UG courses opted by the students in DU after the first round were B Com (Hons), BA (Hons) political science, BSc (Hons) zoology, BTech (Hons) mathematics and humanities and B Com.
The Faculty of Technology, launched with BTech programmes in 2023, continues to gain popularity, especially among students aiming for a balance of theoretical and industry-relevant education.
DU officials have stated that subsequent rounds of seat allocation will continue as per the admission schedule, ensuring that vacant seats are filled efficiently. The third round of CSAS-UG 2025 is expected to address the remaining applicants and may witness further upgrades and fresh allotments depending on withdrawals and seat vacancies.
As one of India’s most sought-after universities, DU continues to see high demand across its colleges, with popular north campus institutions such as Hindu College, SRCC, Miranda House and Hansraj College witnessing intense competition for limited seats.
