Television actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who played the role of Mrs. Roshan Sodhi in the hit serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, filed a sexual harassment case against the show's producer, Asit Kumar Modi, after she quit the show in 2023, a case she won in 2024. Months later, the actress recalled disturbing incidents from the show's Singapore shoot, where Asit allegedly made inappropriate comments. She admitted that she had initially ignored these remarks.
Jennifer Recalls Asit's Inappropriate Remarks
Jennifer revealed that she had conflicts with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's Operations Head, Sohail Ramani, in 2018, during which she was verbally abused over the phone. She later reached out to Asit for help; however, instead of offering support, he allegedly told her, "Sexy lag rahi ho." The actress also recalled verbal harassment from Asit in 2022 when she had requested a letter from the production team for her visa to visit Switzerland.
Jennifer told Pinkvilla, "Unhone voh phone call mei muje bohot si chize boli. Baat kuch aur chal rahi hai. Tum kya roo rahi ho. Tum yaha hoti mai tumko hug karta. Mai chance leta. Tumko toh meri padi hi nahi hai."

Sharing another incident from their trip to Singapore, Jennifer recalled how Asit approached her and said, "Tum kya karti ho. Tumhari roommate toh bahar chali jaati hai roz. Aao room mei aake whiskey peete hai. Akele bore naho hoti ho?" On the third day of their stay, at a coffee shop, Asit allegedly got closer to her and said, "Tumhare hoonth bade sexy hai. Aisa lagta hai pakad ke kiss karlu. (Your lips are very sexy. It makes me want to hold you and kiss you)."
Jennifer also revealed confiding in her co-star and close friend, Mandar Chandwadkar, who plays Bhide, but shared that he did not take a stand for her, leaving her in tears.
She also recalled sharing the incident with Gurucharan Singh, who played her on-screen husband Sodhi and would often intervene whenever he noticed Modi trying to sit too close to her.
