'No world leader asked India to stop war': PM Modi fact-checks Trump's ceasefire claim

Centre and the opposition continued to be at loggerheads on Day 7 of the Parliament Monsoon session on Tuesday. 

 

"No world leader has asked India to stop the way," said PM Modi as he countered the opposition over the Operation Sindoor allegations raised.

He also mentioned that US Vice President called him and told him that Pakistan is going to attack. To which he replied, "If that is Pakistan's plan, they will pay dearly". 

 

In the morning, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attacked the Modi government in Lok Sabha, questioning the alleged intelligence failure that led to the April 22 Pahalgam terrorist attack.

 

"Yesterday, the defence minister spoke for an hour, during which he spoke about terrorism, protecting the country, and also gave a history lesson. But one thing was left out. How did this attack happen?” she asked.

 

Trump had repeatedly claimed to have mediated a truce between India and Pakistan after tensions rose following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Recently, the White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, also claimed that Trump played a decisive role in ending the tensions between the two countries.
