Rishab Shetty to lead new bilingual pan-Indian epic, produced by Naga Vamsi

Last year, reports of Kantara star Rishab Shetty doing a film with Telugu filmmaker Ashwin Gangaraju were doing the rounds. The project has now been confirmed, with the makers releasing a teaser of Rishab in costume, a masked revolutionary.
Sharing the poster on his social media handles, Rishab wrote, "My next film, may your blessings always be with you
. Not all Rebels are forged in Battle.
Some are chosen by Destiny And this is that story of a Rebel.."
Touted as a period epic set in 18th century Bengal, and revolving around the tumultuous events of the time, the film is the 36th production of producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi's Sithara Entertainments in association with Sai Soujanya's Fortune Four Cinemas. Gangaraju is known for the film Aakashavaani, which marked his directorial debut. Gangaraju worked previously as the associate of SS Rajamouli, who was his filmmaking mentor.
According to reports, the film is a Telugu-Kannada bilingual, with the makers planning to shoot in Telugu and Kannada simultaneously, and the release of the Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam dubbed versions planned alongside.
Rishab's full-fledged appearance in a Telugu movie for a first time comes with high hopes, given the actor's popularity with Telugu audiences after the success of Kantara's Telugu version. The actor previously appeared in a cameo role in the Telugu film Mishan Impossible.
Rishab recently confirmed the conclusion of the filming of his Kantara prequel titled 'Kantara: A Legend - Chapter 1', which is slated for a wide theatrical release on October 2, 2025. The film sees Rishab returning to the director's chair once again.
The actor is also the lead in the recently announced Jai Hanuman, filmmaker Prashanth Varma's sequel to the successful HanuMan. Co-starring Rana Daggubati, it is bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. Another big-budget project in Rishab's lineup is The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
