‘Param Sundari’ locks new release date; Sonu Nigam’s Pardesiya track drops

Param Sundari has locked in a new release date after weeks of delay. The film, backed by Maddock Studios, announced on Wednesday that it will now debut on the silver screens on August 29.

The studios shared a fresh film poster on their socials featuring Janhvi Kapoor in traditional South Indian attire with Siddarth Malhotra, at the helm of a boat, looking on. “There’s something about her – the calm, the eyes, the presence. Straight from Kerala, meet Sundari, the soul of the year’s biggest love story,” the post is captioned.

Param Sundari’s delay comes after a massive Mohit Suri wave hit the film industry with debutant-led film Saiyaara. The film also caused the delayed release of Ajay Devgn-led Son of Sardaar 2, now scheduled for August 1. For a romance film, Saiyaara has become a nightmare for producers of other Hindi films, scaring off their releases.

Param Sundari, helmed by Tushar Jalota, will explore the love story of Param, a charming man from North India, who falls for Sundari, a lively young woman from Kerala.

The music is composed by Sachin-Jigar (Stree 2, Badlapur), with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Sonu Nigam lends his vocals for the film. Pardesiya, a song featured in the film, sung by Nigam, Krishnakali Saha, and Sachin-Jigar, was released earlier today.

Malhotra was last seen in Arun Katyal’s action thriller Yodha. Meanwhile, Kapoor made her last appearance in the Jr. NTR-led action film Devara: Part 1. She is currently filming Shashank Khaitan’s upcoming romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, where she stars opposite Varun Dhawan.
