Abduction Caught On Camera: Bihar Man Kidnaps Girl After Dispute With Her Father In Darbhanga
A disturbing CCTV video showing the daylight abduction of a young Hindu woman by a Muslim man in Bihar’s Darbhanga district has gone viral.
The incident reportedly occurred on 29 July in Haatgachi village under Alinagar police station limits. The accused, Hizbul Rehman alias Arzoo, forcibly abducted Lakshmi Kumari, a Hindu girl, by dragging her onto his motorcycle despite her resistance.
The footage shows the Rehman first walks on foot with the girl for some distance. Suddenly, the girl gets scared and runs quickly backward with the child. The young man chases them on his bike and stops the girl to talk to her. Despite the girl's refusal, the young man gets off his bike and forcibly lifts her up and makes her sit on his bike, then sits behind her and takes her away from there.
Lakshmi’s father revealed that Rehman had previously created ruckus at their paan shop and home on 27 July. Despite filing a police complaint at Alinagar police station on 28 July, no action was taken, leading to the abduction the next day.
After the incident video went viral, Darbhanga SSP Jagannath Reddy formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Benipur SDPO Ashutosh Kumar. The police have since arrested Rehman, and Lakshmi has been returned to her family after completing legal procedures.
