Did Nandini Kashyap flout traffic rules in the past? Assam actor who mowed down student with SUV before fleeing arrested

Nandini Kashyap

Assamese actor Nandini Kashyap was arrested on Wednesday days after she rammed a student with her SUV before fleeing the spot. The hit-and-run occurred around 3 am on July 25 in Udalbakra area of Guwahati.

The victim was identified as Samiul Haque, 21, who was studying at Nalbari Polytechnic. He was returning home when the Mahindra Scorpio hit him while witnesses claimed Kashyap fled without helping the man. Haque's friends chased the SUV to a building in Kahilipara as the actress tried to hide her vehicle.

Though Kashyap was charged with non-bailible charges initially, police later charged her with non-bailable charges following Haque's death. The tragic death has sparked outrage as many point out that the authorities failed to impound Kashyap's driving licence despite repeatedly speeding.
