Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district is reeling under the devastation caused by relentless rains and a cloudburst. In tragic visuals, vehicles like scooters, bikes, and cars are seen overturned and buried under debris, swept away like toys in flooded streams. Three lives have been lost, and several remain missing. Locals in Magand and Sartyala allege that after donating land for a government project, their village lost complete connectivity, and they still await proper compensation. The people now threaten indefinite hunger strikes.In Madhya Pradesh’s Alirajpur, a man was nearly swept away while crossing a flooded culvert. He managed to survive after a near-death struggle with the raging waters. In Burhanpur, efforts continue to rescue a bus from a flooded river, while the driver is under treatment for minor injuries.Rajasthan is witnessing similar calamities. In Baran, streets have turned into rivers, with houses submerged under six feet of water. In Sawai Madhopur, both National and State Highways have been badly damaged. A 3-kilometer stretch is underwater, leaving only tractors as a means of transport.Across affected regions, anger against administrative negligence is growing. Villagers are risking lives due to lack of warnings, barricades, or timely action from authorities.
