Halfway through monsoon, over 50% of Andhra districts face rainfall deficit
Andhra Pradesh is facing a significant rainfall deficit this monsoon season, with most districts receiving below-normal precipitation. This has led to a slow start to kharif sowing across the coastal and Rayalaseema regions. Despite an early monsoon onset, erratic rainfall has hampered agricultural activities, with only 43% of the normal sowing area covered by the end of July.
