Navi Mumbai News: Sanpada Businessman Duped Of 8 Lakhs After Being Promised Gold For Lower Price
Navi Mumbai: A businessman in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai, was scammed of Rs 8 lakhs after being offered gold at a low price. The suspects took the money and departed without providing the gold during the exchange. A case has been filed against five unidentified individuals concerning this matter at the Sanpada police station. Rakesh, Rajesh, Khanna, and Raju reached out to Prem Bhanushali, a 22-year-old man residing in Vinay Nagar Mira Road. They informed Prem that he could acquire gold at a low cost and to let him know if he was interested.
Succumbing to this lure, Prem chose to purchase gold. To accomplish this, he collected funds and deposited eight lakhs in cash. Their discussions began in February 2025. At last, after gathering the funds, Prem requested him to display the gold, but he isn't present right now. Rakesh mentioned.
However, a few days later, he was shown gold biscuits through a video call and a test was conducted to confirm that the gold was genuine. Therefore, Prem trusted the suspects. And they asked him to bring the gold. Although all these incidents took place in the Mira Road area, the suspects asked him to meet in Navi Mumbai to give the gold and get the money. On July 29, they decided to meet outside Sanpada station at 3:30 pm. Accordingly, Rakesh and the complainant Prem met at Sanpada station.
After a long conversation, they showed Prem three gold biscuits worth an estimated fifteen lakhs but did not give them to him. Instead, they demanded money. After giving Prem eight lakhs in cash, he kept talking for some time. And before he knew it, a car arrived at the place, from which Rajesh, Khanna, Raju and some other strangers got out and everyone got into the car, showing that they were in a hurry, wondering what Rakesh was doing.
They not only took eight lakhs in cash from Prem, but also left without giving him the gold. Prem tried to stop them. However, since there were more people, their efforts were thwarted. Finally, on Wednesday, Prem approached Sanpada police station and filed a complaint against the people concerned. Taking cognizance of this complaint, the police have registered a case of cheating against Rakesh, Rajesh, Khanna, Raju and others.
