PSPCL tells beat in charges to keep tab on low-lying cables

Authorities in the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited have taken serious notice of an incident in which the roof of a school bus had come in contact with a low lying cable at Darbara Singh Nagar of Lohara village three days ago.

Besides getting the said cable elevated, the authorities have advised beat in charges to rule out possibility of any similar situation in their respective regions. Harman Singh, SDO at Sarinh power subdivision, claimed that patrolling for presence of any low cable or conductor in the region had been carried out following receipt of information about the incident in which a cable got in touch with the roof of a school bus at Darbara Singh Nagar three days ago.

“We deployed our team of technical staff immediately after receiving information about the incident and got the cable elevated,” said Singh, claiming that in charges of various areas had been advised to conduct intensive patrolling to identify installations which could cause potential risk to life and property of residents or passersby.
