Ajay Devgn starrer Son of Sardaar 2 has hit the big screens today (August 1, 2025). The movie also stars Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, and Deepak Dobriyal, and it has received good reviews from the critics. Well, at the end of Son Of Sardaar 2, there's a very special cameo, and the announcement of a BIG franchise movie.

Well, director Rohit Shetty has a cameo in the film, and the scene shows an interaction between the filmmaker and Ajay. The actor asks him what he is doing here, and Rohit replies, "Golmaal 5 ki taiyaari kar raha ho."

There have been reports that Golmaal 5 is happening soon, and earlier Rohit and Ajay have also spoken about it. But, with this cameo and announcement, we are sure the fans of the Golmaal series can't wait for the fifth instalment of the franchise.

Golmaal Franchise

The first Golmaal film was released in 2006, and the fourth instalment had hit the big screens in 2017. The movie was officially announced a couple of years ago, but it never went on the floor. But, with this confirmation in Son Of Sardaar 2, we are hoping that maybe in 2026 or 2027, we will get to watch Golmaal 5.

Meanwhile, Rohit is currently busy with the biopic on Rakesh Maria, which stars John Abraham and Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead roles. The makers have not announced the release date of the movie yet.

Son Of Sardaar 2 Review

The Free Press Journal reviewer gave 3.5 stars to Son Of Sardaar 2 and wrote, "Son Of Sardaar 2 is a hilarious film that will surely tickle your funny bone. So, go to theatres and just enjoy this laugh riot with your family!"
