Guarapuava: In a shocking case, a 20-year-old woman was found dead on a bus in Brazil’s Paraná region with 26 iPhones strapped to her body.

The incident took place during her journey through Guarapuava. As per reports, a full investigation is now underway as police await forensic reports to determine the cause of death.

Failed Revival Efforts

According to local reports, the young woman began showing signs of distress mid-journey. Emergency responders were called after she experienced difficulty breathing and apparent convulsions. She was treated on the bus itself but went into cardiac arrest shortly after. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate her for 45 minutes but were unable to revive her.

Military Police officials confirmed the woman had 26 iPhones glued directly to her body. Forensic teams from the Scientific Police and Civil Police were called to the scene for examination. A sniffer dog deployed during the investigation found no trace of drugs on her, but several bottles of alcohol were discovered in her luggage and subsequently seized.

Phones Seized, Cause of Death Still Unknown

In a statement cited by The Sun, Paraná Civil Police said, “The Paraná Civil Police are investigating the case and awaiting the conclusion of forensic reports to clarify the cause of death.” The iPhones have been handed over to Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have not released further information regarding the woman's identity or any potential links to smuggling. For now, the circumstances surrounding the presence of the devices and her sudden death remain under scrutiny.
