General Manager Mukul Saran Mathur Undertakes Extensive Inspection in Bengaluru Division

Mukul Saran Mathur, General Manager of South Western Railway, conducted a detailed window-trailing inspection of the Dharmavaram–Whitefield section, focusing on various operational and safety parameters. The inspection aimed to assess the condition of tracks, signaling systems, and infrastructure across the section to ensure smooth and safe train operations.

During the course of the inspection, the General Manager visited several key locations. At Nagasamudram Railway Station, he reviewed the ongoing infrastructure and yard development works. He examined the pace of execution and instructed officials to maintain quality and safety standards throughout the construction activities. He then carried out a detailed assessment of the proposed Goodshed yard at Penukonda, which is expected to enhance freight-handling capacity in the region.

At Hindupur Railway Station, which is being redeveloped at a cost of ₹23.97 crore under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), Mukul Saran Mathur inspected the ongoing works in detail. He reviewed the progress of platform upgradation, enhancement of passenger amenities, and the overall redevelopment of station buildings. He issued clear instructions to officials to ensure timely completion of the project with a strong emphasis on improving passenger experience, station aesthetics, and accessibility features.

The General Manager also visited Doddaballapur, which is being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) at a cost of ₹25.42 crore. He inspected the Loading Yard, a key hub for freight operations, especially for the dispatch of automobiles such as tractors and other vehicles. Mathur closely reviewed the yard’s layout and operational setup, and directed officials to take all necessary steps to strengthen the infrastructure and enhance turnaround time, ensuring greater efficiency in freight movement.

The inspection concluded at Whitefield Railway Station, where Mukul Saran Mathur reviewed the ongoing redevelopment works being carried out under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS) at a cost of ₹23.37 crore. He assessed the progress of various upgrades, including enhancements to platforms, waiting areas, and other passenger facilities, and emphasized the need to maintain high standards in execution to ensure improved commuter experience.

At the end of the day’s programme, Mukul Saran Mathur also inaugurated the newly developed Sports Arena of the Bengaluru Division Sports Association, which includes facilities for Football, Volleyball, and Cricket practice nets.

The inspection, was accompanied by Ashutosh Kumar Singh, DRM, Bengaluru Division; Parikshit Mohanpuria, ADRM; Gul Ashfaque Mohammed, Chief Project Manager, Gati Shakti Unit (CPM/GSU); and other senior officers of the division.
