Breaking News: Supreme Court Raises Alarm Over Unregulated Construction in Himachal Pradesh | ABP NEWS

The Supreme Court of India has taken serious note of the unchecked and unscientific construction in Himachal Pradesh, warning that if current practices continue, the state may "vanish from the map." The Court expressed concern over increasing environmental disasters such as floods, landslides, and road collapses, attributing them not to nature but to man-made actions like deforestation and blasting of mountains. The case was initially about a hotel project halted due to the area's designation as a green zone, which the Court upheld. However, the Court broadened its scope, demanding the Himachal government submit a comprehensive environmental protection plan within four weeks. The next hearing is scheduled for August 25. Meanwhile, flash floods in Tindi stranded 16 people, who were rescued by BRO and local authorities. Heavy rains continue to impact regions like Mandi and Chamba, causing road closures and landslides, worsening the already fragile ecological situation.
