‘This award is for you’: Shah Rukh Khan on his first National Award win for ‘Jawan’

In a defining moment of his three-decade-long career, the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, can finally call himself a National Award winner after he won Best Actor for his performance in Atlee Kumar’s 2023 film Jawan. He shares the award with Vikrant Massey for his performance in the sleeper hit 12th Fail.
For Khan, the award not only marks a personal milestone, but also generated immense online buzz. Overwhelmed by his win and the subsequent social media response, the actor took to Instagram to share his joy. “To be honoured with the National Award is a moment that I will cherish for a lifetime."
He further said that the award serves a deeper meaning to continue his craft. “It's a reminder that what I do matters. It tells me to keep going, keep working hard, keep creating and keep serving cinema,” he said. "In a world full of noise, to be heard, truly heard, is a blessing. And I promise to use this recognition, not as a finish line, but as fuel to continue striving, learning and giving back.”
He thanked Atlee for giving him the opportunity and trusting him with the box office hit. "Thanks to Atlee, sir and his team for giving me the opportunity in 'Jawan' and trusting me to deliver and be worthy of this award. Atlee sir, this is like you say 'mass'."

The Swades actor also thanked his team and management, and his family who stood by him and gave him “much more love and care as if I'm the kid in the house and want only the best for me.”
The actor appeared in the video with a sling around his arm after sustaining an injury on the set of his upcoming film King. While reports indicate that the injury is not serious, it does require the actor to take a month's rest, prompting the production to go on hold.

"Thank you for all the cheers and all the tears... This award is for you, as each award is, and yeah, I would love to spread my arms for you and share my love, but I'm a bit indisposed. But don't worry, just keep the popcorn ready. I'll be back in theatres and soon on the screen. So till then, just with one hand," Khan concluded.
