Duped by fake promo video: Karnataka man loses Rs 22.59 lakh in online investment scam

A Mangaluru resident was allegedly defrauded of Rs 22.59 lakh in an online investment scam after clicking on a Facebook video featuring Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The victim was persuaded to invest in cryptocurrency and pay various fees and penalties by individuals posing as financial experts and legal representatives. A case has been registered at Kankanady Town Police Station.
