Jharkhand Education Minister Ramdas Soren was airlifted to Delhi for advanced treatment after being injured in a bathroom accident. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader had suffered a head injury after he slipped and fell in the bathroom at his residence early on Saturday. His condition deteriorated at the Jamshedpur Hospital while he was undergoing treatment. He was later airlifted to the national capital for advanced treatment.
As a consequence of his fall on the wet bathroom floor, Ramdas Soren suffered a serious brain injury and a blood clot, according to reports from Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari. The condition of the three-time legislator from the Ghatshila constituency worsened during treatment due to the blood clot, and doctors at the Jamshedpur hospital suggested he be taken to Delhi for advanced care. Minister Ansari said he is constantly in touch with the team monitoring his cabinet colleague's condition. The air ambulance reportedly took off from the state capital of Ranchi.
Local media reports indicated that the minister was first admitted to Jamshedpur's Tata Motors Hospital before the decision was made to fly him to Medanta Super Speciality Hospital. Live Hindustan reported that his family was also comfortable with the move to Delhi as he was already consulting a hospital there for a kidney ailment.
He had attended the first day of the assembly session on Friday and had returned home in the evening. Ramdas Soren, who became a prominent leader in the JMM following Champai Soren's rebellion, is also said to have suffered injuries to his hand in the fall.
