Son Of Sardaar 2 Box Office Day 2: Ajay Devgn's Film Manages To Hold Its Ground, Earns ₹7.50 Crore

Son Of Sardaar 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur in the leads, witnessed a negligible jump in its revenue on Saturday, its second day, as it earned Rs 7.50 crore. The film clashed with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri's Dhadak 2 at the box office, as both the films released on August 1.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Son Of Sardaar 2 opened with Rs 7.25 crore on Friday. The total box office collection of the film now stands at Rs 14.75 crore.

With a strong word-of-mouth, the film is expected to perform even better on Sunday and end its weekend run on a decent note.

The maximum occupancy for Son Of Sardaar 2 was in the night shows at 44.65 per cent. It was the least for the morning shows. The film also saw maximum occupancy in theatres in Mumbai and the northern belt.

About Son of Sardaar 2

Son Of Sardaar 2 comes more than a decade after the original Son of Sardaar (2012), which clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan and still held its ground. The makers of the spiritual sequel are now hoping for similar box office results this time as well.

Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, known for his acclaimed Punjabi films, Son of Sardaar 2 marks his Bollywood debut. The film sees Ajay reprise his role as Jassi, with Mrunal playing the female lead. The cast also includes Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Neeru Bajwa, Deepak Dobriyal, Chunky Panday, and Kubbra Sait, among others.

The film has received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. However, The Free Press Journal gave it a favourable 3.5-star rating, calling it "a hilarious film that will surely tickle your funny bone."
