7 lakh state farmers got Rs 147 cr of PM Samman Nidhi: Bindal

BJP state president Rajeev Bindal today expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for releasing the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. He said that over 7.38 eligible farmers of the state had received about Rs 147 crore under the scheme.

Bindal, in a press statement issued here, said that under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Rs 3.89 lakh crore had been transferred to farmers’ bank accounts nationwide. He added that on February 24, 2025, the 19th installment of the scheme was credited to the bank accounts of 9.26 crore farmers across the country.

He said that Himachal was an agriculture-based state and farmers here would greatly benefit from the installment money. “Though farmers in Himachal are hard working, they often face difficulties due to harsh weather conditions and difficult hill terrain. Therefore, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi had proved to be a blessing for them,” he added.

Bindal said, “Also, over 55,000 eligible farmers in Sirmaur district are registered under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. In the 20th installment released by the Prime Minister, more than Rs 11 crore has been directly credited to the bank accounts of the farmers in Sirmaur.”

He said that the Prime Minister had launched the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in February 2019 to meet the financial needs of farmers. “Under the scheme, funds are directly deposited in Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The scheme was initiated with the objective of increasing the income of small and marginal farmers in the country,” he added.
