Under this, toll-free travel facility will be available for one year or up to 200 trips for just Rs 3,000. This service will be available on the entire National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) network.
Why was this pass introduced?
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) says that this scheme will provide relief to frequent travelers from paying toll every time. Now both time and money can be saved by paying for a year in one go.
Who can get this pass?
Only vehicle owners with private car, jeep or van
Commercial vehicles will not get this facility
Vehicle information will be verified from VAHAN database
FASTag will be blocked immediately if wrong information is given or misused
Where to get Annual Pass?
Apply through Highway Travel Mobile App or
by visiting NHAI website
Pay the fee of Rs 3,000 online
After verification, the pass will be activated in about 2 hours
How will the pass work?
Toll free at all toll plazas of NH and NE
After completion of 200 trips or one year, the pass will automatically convert into normal FASTag.
It will work like a normal tag on state highways, local roads and parking and charges will be levied there.
How will the trips be counted?
In an open toll system (where there is only one plaza), every crossing will be considered as one trip.
In a closed toll system (where there are both entries and exits), one entry-exit will be considered as one trip.
What does the government say?
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari says that this pass will eliminate the hassles caused by back-to-back toll plazas and will give great benefit to daily commuters and intercity travelers. If you travel on the highway daily, then this FASTag Annual Pass is very beneficial for you.
