iPhone users will not be able to use this feature from this day, know what users will do now
Truecaller has made a big announcement for iPhone users, the call recording feature in the app will stop working from September 30, 2025.
Truecaller in iPhone: Truecaller has made a big announcement for iPhone users that the call recording feature in the app will stop working from 30 September 2025. The reason behind this is the in-built call recording feature introduced by Apple in the new version of iOS, which no longer requires third-party apps. For this reason, Truecaller will now focus on improving its other features like Live Caller ID and spam call blocking.
Why was call recording on iPhone expensive and complicated?
Call recording on the iOS platform has always been a challenging task compared to Android. Truecaller had to merge a special recording line into the call to record calls on iPhone. This was not only a complicated process but also had high operational costs.
While direct recording is possible in Android, such direct access is restricted in iOS for security reasons. Now that Apple itself has provided the facility of call recording, it is no longer practical for Truecaller to continue with its expensive and complex solution.
How to save your old recording data
Truecaller advises iPhone users to backup all their call recordings before September 30 as all recording data will be permanently deleted after that. You can save your important audios by following the steps given below:
Open the Truecaller app on iPhone.
Go to the “Record” tab.
Tap on the “Settings” icon at the top.
Storage Preference” and set it to iCloud Storage.
If the iCloud option is disabled, go to your iPhone Settings: Settings > Your Name > iCloud > Saved to iCloud > Turn on Truecaller.
To download a specific recording: Swipe left on that recording in the “Record” tab.
Tap on “Share” or “Export” and save the recording to local storage or another cloud service.
What next?
Truecaller’s call recording may be shutting down, but the app is now working on strengthening its other important features. iPhone users will now have to rely on Apple’s inbuilt feature for call recording. For those for whom old recordings are important, this is the time to save their data before September 30.
