52nd Meeting of TOLIC, Panipat Held Successfully

The 52nd meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Panipat, was organized at the Community Centre of the Refinery Township. The meeting was presided over by M.L. Dahriya, Executive Director & Refinery Head, Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex (PRPC), Indian Oil Corporation Limited.

The meeting was graced by several dignitaries on the dais, including Kumar Pal Sharma, Joint Director (Implementation), Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India; Sudhir Kumar Jha, Executive Director, National Fertilizers Limited; Sharad Agrawal, Chief General Manager & Regional Head, Northern Region Pipelines; Om Prakash, Chief General Manager (HR); and Sanjay Kumar, General Manager (Employee Services).

The program commenced with the Official Language song and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Dr. Ashutosh Chandra Jha, Member Secretary, welcomed all guests and presented a detailed review of the half-yearly progress reports submitted by member offices. He also highlighted the creative initiatives and competitions conducted by various member organizations.

On this occasion, six offices were felicitated with the Rajbhasha Shield Awards for their outstanding implementation of Hindi: In the ‘Large Office’ category, Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex was awarded the First Prize for its excellent implementation of the Official Language. National Fertilizers Limited, Panipat secured the Second Prize, while the Third Prize was awarded to State Bank of India, Regional Business Office, Panipat. In the ‘Small Office’ category, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Panipat received the First Prize, followed by National Handloom Development Corporation, Panipat with the Second Prize, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Panipat with the Third Prize.

M.L. Dahriya congratulated the award-winning offices for their dedicated efforts in promoting the use of Hindi. In his address, he appreciated the consistent commitment of member offices towards the effective implementation of Hindi and urged everyone to work collectively to achieve 100% compliance in Hindi usage across all official work.

Kumar Pal Sharma, Joint Director (Implementation), Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, shared valuable insights and emphasized the importance of working in Hindi " as we transitioned from speaking to writing, now we must consistently use Hindi not just in speech and writing, but also in digital and official computer-based communication."

The meeting was efficiently anchored by Dr. Ashutosh Chandra Jha, Member Secretary. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sanjay Kumar, GM (Employee Services), PRPC.
