The Supreme Court's 'true Indian' remark against Rahul Gandhi has given fresh ammo to the Bharatiya Janata Party to troll the Leader of Opposition. Union ministers slammed the Congress leader for his remarks, allegedly claiming Chinese occupation of Indian territory and questioned his loyalty to the country.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijuju questioned the basis of Rahul Gandhi's Chinese encroachment statement and said, "We have been making appeals to Rahul Gandhi not to make such unsubstantiated statements, but he doesn't listen to us. I am very happy that at least SC has now given him a warning." He added Gandhi should clarify the source for his statements.

Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal charged India's honour and integrity are not the priority for the Leader of the Opposition. "He, his family, and the Congress party have crushed India's interests by allowing foreign powers to dictate terms. They are unsettled by the Modi government's resolve to put NATION FIRST and consolidate our position globally as a resilient and self-reliant nation," he added. "Rahul Gandhi has been resorting to a shoot-and-scoot strategy without any evidence or accountability. Time for him to ask himself, IS HE TRULY AN INDIAN?" Goyal tweeted.

Staying the trial proceedings against Gandhi in a defamation case before Lucknow court, a Supreme Court bench comprising Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice A.G. Masih, expressed strong disapproval of Gandhi’s remarks. “How do you get to know that 2000 square kilometres of Indian territory were occupied by the Chinese? Were you there? Do you have any credible material?” the top court asked, reported Live Law. “If you were a true Indian, you would not say all this,” it further said.

BJP MP Kangana Ranaut called the Congress leader anti-national and charged he has "anti-India" mindset.

BJP IT department head Amit Malviya called the Congress leader "China Guru" and said the Supreme Court has once again reprimanded 'China Guru' Rahul Gandhi for making irresponsible statements concerning India's national security and territorial integrity. "Rahul Gandhi is now a certified anti-national," he charged.
