Till now, if someone is caught driving without insurance, then the fine is Rs 2,000 for the first time and Rs 4,000 for the second time. But now this rule is going to change. Under the new rule, if you are caught for the first time, you may have to pay a fine of up to three times the basic premium amount of the insurance. At the same time, if you do it again, you will have to pay a fine of up to five times. The government wants to reduce the number of uninsured vehicles on the roads so that compensation can be easily obtained in case of any accident.

Rules will also be clear regarding speed limit

Right now there is a lot of confusion about speed limit in the country. Many times the central and state governments implement different rules, due to which people do not understand where and at what speed to drive. Many times the challan is issued unknowingly.

According to the new system, now the central government will have the right to decide the speed limit on national highways and expressways, while the state governments will decide the speed limit of state highways and local roads. This will make it easier for drivers to stay informed and will also prevent unnecessary challans.

Driving license rules will also be strict

Now new rules are going to come regarding driving license as well. If someone is caught in a serious crime like speeding or drunk driving, then he will have to give a driving test before renewing the license again.

Apart from this, people above 55 years of age will also have to prove while renewing the license that they can still drive safely. For this, they will also have to give a driving test once again.

The proposal for all these changes has been sent by the Ministry of Road Transport to other ministries and departments so that everyone’s opinion can be obtained. After getting all the suggestions, it will be sent to the cabinet. As soon as the cabinet approves, these new rules will be implemented across the country.
