- After this, you will have to go to the ‘Forms’ section on the homepage and click on Form 7 (Objection for inclusion/Deletion of name). In which you will have to fill your details. Which will contain information like name, address, date of birth, voter ID number.
After this you will have to tell why you want to cancel the card. For this, you will have to select duplicate card or double registration in ‘Reason for Deletion’. After this you will have to upload a copy of your voter ID.
After uploading the copy of the voter card, you can submit the form. After submitting the form, you will get a reference number through which you can check the status of your request. Your Blue can also come to your home for verification based on your request. The whole process can take 15 to 30 days.
What will happen if it is not cancelled?
If you have two voter cards and you have not cancelled one of them, then you may face problems later. The Election Commission considers this to be illegal because a person’s name should not be registered at more than one place. If it is found that you have two voter IDs, then your name can be removed from both places.
