Lamberghini girl Ragini Tandan has a treat for Chandigarh folks!
The voice behind the hit song Lamberghini, Ragini Tandan is now ready to start a new chapter in life with her first-ever independent album, titled Chasing Light. The album will be launched at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh, on August 7 and 8 with a live perfomance.
For Ragini, this concert is more than just a performance; it’s homecoming. “I’m from Ambala and Chandigarh is my second home. To perform live here is a dream come true,” she says.
From playback to her own path
To become a playback singer was on Ragini’s wish-list when she started her career, but with this album she is moving into the independent music space where she can create her own sound. “Earlier, I sang songs composed by others. Now, I sit in my own studio, work on melodies, and build something original. It’s been a big shift, and I’m learning every day,” she shares. Lamberghini brought her massive fame, but Ragini does not want to be known for that one song alone. “It was my second song, and I’m grateful. But, I also want people to explore the music I’m creating now,” she says.
An album for dreamers
Chasing Light — this album isn’t just a collection of songs but it’s Ragini’s journey in the world of music. “It’s for all dreamers. People who take risks and work hard to follow their dreams will relate to it. It’s my story, but I believe listeners will find their own story in it too,” she says. Choosing Chandigarh to launch the album is a heartfelt decision. “Chandigarh has given me so many memories, it only feels right to start this new chapter here,” she says.
Following her heart
‘Follow your heart’is the most important lesson Ragini has learned as an independent female artiste. “There would be tough moments, but if you truly love what you do, something good will come out of it. So, follow your heart and just go for it,” she says.
Ragini draws inspiration from Sunidhi Chauhan and Arijit Singh. “Both of them are my idols and I wish I could sing like them. One day, I’d love to collaborate with them,” she says. As for her favourite genre, she loves soul-stirring melodies and ghazals. She listens to Coke Studio tracks, likes British singer-song writer Joy Crookes, but “Adele is my absolute favourite artiste.”
Chandigarh, are you ready?
Her message to Chandigarh fans? “I’m beyond excited to perform live for you. I’ll be sharing five new songs from Chasing Light. Let’s make it a night to remember. See you at Tagore Theatre!”
