Janhit: Cloudburst Triggers Devastation in Himachal Pradesh; Hundreds Rescued by ITBP and NDRF | ABP NEWS
Himachal Pradesh is reeling under the fury of nature as multiple incidents of cloudbursts, landslides, and flash floods wreak havoc across the state. The most alarming incident was reported in Kinnaur district, where a cloudburst triggered a powerful torrent that swept away at least two bridges in Tangling area. One of these incidents was captured on camera, showing the terrifying force of water and rocks tearing through everything in its path. Over 400 Kinner Kailash pilgrims were stranded due to the disaster, but timely intervention by ITBP and NDRF saved lives. Rescue teams used ropes and makeshift ladders to evacuate trapped people. The Kinner Kailash Yatra has now been suspended. Across the state, the monsoon continues to unleash destruction. From Chamba to Shimla, landslides have damaged roads, and falling rocks have endangered lives. Vehicles were seen tumbling off cliffs and highways like NH-154 and NH-21 remain blocked due to landslides. In Kullu’s Malana village, locals rebuilt a destroyed bridge with their own efforts after government aid fell short. With rain forecast to continue, over 7.9 million residents of Himachal Pradesh live under constant threat.
