Delhi airport to Noida in just 20 minutes, PM Modi to inaugurate this expressway on August 16, it will cross…
Delhi airport to Noida in 20 minutes? It feels like a dream. But it is soon going to reality. Now it takes more than two hours to reach IGI airport from Noida. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Dwarka Expressway and Urban Extension Road on August 16. The inauguration ceremony will be organised near Dwarka on the Dwarka Expressway itself. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, along with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and all MPs and MLAs from Delhi-NCR region will be present at the ceremony.
This month, the national capital Delhi will get a new ring road in the form of Urban Extension Road (UER-2). With its opening, not only will many major areas of Delhi have direct connectivity to the airport, but connectivity of Sonipat, Karnal, Panipat, Ambala, Rohtak, Jind to Bahadurgarh area will also improve.
It currently takes two hours to reach the airport from many areas, but now it will take only 20 minutes. This will reduce traffic pressure on the roads and will also lead to huge savings in diesel and petrol. Three years ago, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari had announced the construction of UER-2.
Which all areas will see a less traffic?
The project is going to be completed within the next 10 days. This is a four to six lane expressway. Its construction cost is approximately eight thousand crore rupees. It starts from the Delhi-Chandigarh Highway in Alipur, Delhi and goes up to the Dwarka Expressway in Mundka, Bakkarwala, Najafgarh and Dwarka.
The expressway will connect…
Beyond Dwarka Expressway, the airport is connected to the Delhi-Jaipur Highway at Mahipalpur. With its opening, traffic pressure in many areas within Delhi will be reduced. Currently, people who reach the airport via the Delhi-Chandigarh Highway have to pass through many areas of Delhi.
To improve connectivity of Bahadurgarh with the airport, a separate road of about eight kilometers has been built and UER-2 has been connected at Dichau Kalan. Delhi-Rohtak Highway is connected to UER-2 at Mundka. Similarly, Sonipat Highway has been connected to it at Bawana. Dwarka Expressway is further connected to Gurugram-Sohna Highway.
The Gurugram-Sohna highway is directly connected to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. In this way, after the opening of UER-2, it will be easier to reach Palam Airport from many cities of NCR and Delhi’s connectivity with major cities of many states will improve.
Prime Minister will inaugurate UER-2 and Delhi section of Dwarka Expressway
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Delhi part of UER-2 and Dwarka Expressway after 15th August this month. The Prime Minister’s Office has given such an indication to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). NHAI has started preparations as soon as it got the indication.
Who all will attend the inauguration?
Apart from the Prime Minister, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and many other central and state government ministers, MPs and MLAs of both the states will participate in it. Dwarka Expressway has been built from near Kherki Daula toll plaza to in front of Shiv Murti in Mahipalpur. Its Gurugram section was inaugurated by the Prime Minister last year.
