Why Is Ed Sheeran Dressed As Bride For Harry Potter Star Rupert Grint

A clip from the song is going viral where Rupert lifts a bride's veil only to find Ed Sheeran dressed as a bride and it has left fans wanting more tea on the same. Well, it is from their latest collaboration-“A Little More”-is a quirky, emotional rollercoaster and part of the promotional run-up to Sheeran’s next studio album, Play, which drops on September 12, 2025. Over a decade after their memorable team-up in the viral “Lego House” video, Harry Potter star Rupert Grint and global pop sensation Ed Sheeran have reunited onscreen.

A continuation of the ‘Lego House’ saga

In Ed Sheeran’s 2011 hit Lego House, Rupert Grint portrayed a fan who was creepily obsessed with the singer. Fast forward 14 years in the new video, and Grint reprises this role, now freshly released from prison and trying to turn his life around. Directed by Emil Nava, the video cleverly serves as a spiritual sequel to the original story-only this time, it blends satire, heartbreak, and surrealism in equal parts.

Grint’s character seeks redemption and love

After leaving prison, Grint’s character embarks on a journey of self-healing. He attends therapy sessions, joins a “Stalkers Anonymous” support group, and finds employment as a mansion cleaner. Along the way, he falls for a woman played by Game of Thrones actress Nathalie Emmanuel. Their romance leads to a whimsical wedding proposal-but things take a bizarre turn from there.

Ed Sheeran appears in multiple roles

In a surreal twist, Sheeran haunts Grint’s path to recovery in an almost dreamlike way. He makes cameo appearances as various characters: a prison guard, a therapist, a co-worker, and even a guest at Grint’s wedding. The final scene delivers the ultimate curveball-when Grint lifts the bride’s veil at the altar, it’s Sheeran’s face staring back. You can see Ed all dolled up like a bride here. The video closes with the two slow-dancing beneath a glittering disco ball, with Sheeran donning a white bridal gown.

Behind the scenes: A reunion 14 years in the making

Sharing the experience on Instagram, Ed Sheeran expressed his excitement over working with Grint again after such a long gap. “I hadn’t worked with @rupertgrint in 14 years since Lego House, so I wasn’t sure if he’d agree to this idea. But I’m so glad he did,” Sheeran wrote. He also mentioned that this video shoot was the longest of his career and involved the most costume changes to date.
