That Virat and Anushka are vegan is no secret now. Recently, Harsh Dixit, spoke about cooking for the celebrity couple during their anniversary in December 2019.

Harsh Dixit told Hollywood Reporter India about he cooked traditional Vietnamese cuisine ‘Pho’, which includes chicken and beef in broth. However, since the Virat and Anushka are vegan, he gave the dish a unique twist.

“Vietnamese cuisine includes a lot of snake – snake wine, even snake meat. So, how about serving ‘snakes’ to vegans?” Dixit said.

The chef then decided to use snake gourd in ‘Pho’ which made it perfect for the vegan couple. Dixit shared that he prepared a five-course dinner at Virat-Anushka’s home for their anniversary in 2019.

What Vietnamese food contains?

Dixit further explained how he made the vegetarian ‘snake’. He said, “Vietnamese cuisine has a lot of snakes. Snake wine, even snake meat. So, why not serve ‘snake’ to vegetarians? Snake gourd was the main ingredient. It was stuffed with peanuts, coconut, tofu and some coriander then smoked. The dish also had water chestnut enoki mushrooms and chillies, all in a lemongrass-ginger-coriander root broth.” He further added that a chilli oil was also served on the side.
