In Uttarkashi’s Dharali region, relentless rescue operations are underway as teams continue searching for missing locals after the devastating disaster struck on August 5. The Army, using advanced equipment, is working to locate survivors trapped under debris. Many rescued individuals consider themselves fortunate to be alive, recounting how sudden pressure and flooding left them with no chance to react. Around 500 meters of road have been completely washed away, leaving only narrow rocky passages for escape. Families stranded for days have started walking out on foot, determined to reach safety despite exhaustion and fear.
