Breaking: Heavy Rains Paralyze Delhi NCR, Flooded Roads And Traffic Chaos Grip The Region
Heavy rains have lashed Delhi NCR, causing flooded roads, massive traffic jams, and widespread waterlogging. From ITO to Ring Road, underpasses are submerged, vehicles are stranded, and commuters face severe delays. Many cars have stalled mid-route due to rising water levels, while cranes and water pumps are deployed but proving insufficient. The Yamuna River level is also increasing after water release from Hathni Kund Barrage, raising flood alert concerns. Areas like Vasant Kunj, Adarsh Nagar, and Noida Sector 62 are worst affected, with streets resembling temporary lakes. The situation coincides with Raksha Bandhan, adding to public distress as people struggle to reach their destinations. In Noida, prolonged waterlogging has created hours-long traffic congestion. Delhi Government has urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel, citing risks of vehicle breakdowns and worsening traffic snarls. Meanwhile, parts of Varanasi, Patna, and Mandi in Himachal Pradesh are also facing inundation due to relentless monsoon showers. Experts warn that continued rain may lead to urban flooding, disruption of public transport, and further escalation of flood threats across the region. Relief efforts are ongoing, but heavy rainfall shows no signs of abating.
