PM Modi Flags Off 3 Vande Bharat Express Trains: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flagged off three Vande Bharat Express trains in Bengaluru. The much-awaited Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat Express was flagged off by Modi himself; Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Amritsar and Ajni (Nagpur)-Pune Vande Bharat services were virtually launched. Officials said these trains will enhance regional connectivity, reduce travel time and provide a world-class travel experience to passengers.

Modi-Modi slogans raised

PM Modi also greeted him by waving his hand from inside his car. The Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat Express will be the 11th Vande Bharat service to be operated in Karnataka. Railway officials said that it is the fastest train between these two cities, covering the 611 km distance in just 8.5 hours. It will save around 1 hour 20 minutes from KSR Bengaluru to Belagavi and 1 hour 40 minutes from Belagavi to KSR Bengaluru.

Will connect Bengaluru to Belgaum

He said the train connects Bengaluru, the Silicon City of India, to Belgaum, a hub of premier medical and engineering institutes, thereby boosting economic and educational opportunities. The route passes through Karnataka’s rich sugarcane belt and passes through major cities like Dharwad, famous for its prestigious educational institutions; Hubli, a thriving commercial and industrial centre; Haveri, an emerging agricultural hub; Davanagere, popular for textiles and agriculture; and Tumakuru, a growing industrial and educational hub.

This improved connectivity will benefit students, professionals, farmers and businessmen by providing faster access to Bengaluru’s vast opportunities, as well as boost economic growth and cultural exchange across the region, the railways said in a release. After the inauguration, a special inaugural train (train no. 06575) will run from KSR Bengaluru to Belagavi, departing at 11:15 am and reaching Belagavi at 8:00 pm the same day, stopping at Yeshwantpur, Tumakuru, Davanagere, SMM Haveri, SSS Hubli and Dharwad.

Ajni-Pune Vande Bharat Express flagged off

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off the Ajni-Pune Vande Bharat Express, a new semi-high-speed train service connecting Nagpur and Pune in Maharashtra. The event was held digitally and Modi formally flagged it off from Bangalore. The new Vande Bharat Express, managed by the Central Railway zone, will run between Ajni (Nagpur) and Pune. Covering a distance of 881 km, the train completed its journey in around 12 hours, making it the fastest service on the route, beating other trains like Pune Humsafar and Azad Hind Express.

Schedule and Frequency

This service is named as train number 26101 and 26102. It will run six days a week, except Tuesdays from Pune and Mondays from Ajni. Train 26101 (Pune to Ajni) will depart from Pune station on August 11, 2025 at 6:25 am and reach Ajni at 6:25 pm the same day. Train 26102 (Ajni to Pune) will depart from Ajni station on August 12, 2025 at 9:50 am and reach Pune at 9:50 pm the same day.

Where and how many stoppages

During its journey, Vande Bharat Express stopped at ten stations: Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Shegaon, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar and Daund Chord Line. Coach Composition and Passenger Capacity – This train has eight coaches which include one executive chair car and seven chair car coaches. In total, the train has a seating capacity of 590 passengers, with executive coaches accommodating 44 passengers and chair coaches accommodating 546 passengers.
